ABOUT

Art education:

Foundation in Art and Design- Braintree College, Essex

HND Figurative Sculpture- Stafford College

BA (hons) degree in Fine Art (sculpture) - Loughborough College of Art and Design.

After completing my degree, I joined the Tussauds Studios from 1999-2007 as a Senior Sculptor. This role entailed sculpting portraits and bodies from sittings or research material as well as travelling worldwide- leading the Studios sittings team to photograph and measure dozens of celebrities from Robin Williams and Justin Timberlake to Queen Beatrix of Amsterdam.

I have always had an interest in human anatomy and have pursued this via various courses, including “Anatomy for Artists” at UCH, London; an ITEC qualification in Anatomy, Physiology and Body Massage and AS level Human Biology.

Three years of Yoga Teacher Training with the British Wheel of Yoga also helped to inform and inspire my sculptural work.

These qualifications along with my art education have given me a sound knowledge from which to teach sculpting and anatomy which I have done at a variety of educational establishments (see tuition page for further information).

I enjoy working with children and young adults and since having my own children I have participated a great deal in school educational arts events, coordinating “Speen School-Fest” Art events for three consecutive years.

My passion for nature and the environment has led me to working with schools and young people on a variety of craft-based educational projects, for many years running an “Eco-Club" at Speen infant school and holding themed mornings to build “Eco-Schools”  3D models from recycled and repurposed objects.

I currently take private commissions and offer tuition from my base in the Chilterns.
